White Wines Chardonnay 2007 Yadkin Valley — $16 Limited Release: 80 Cases An amazing wine in so many ways! Chardonnay is a sensitive, thin-skinned grape. The Easter cold snap of 2007 greatly reduced that vintage crop, but our Chardonnay fared well, produced from vines densely planted in the meter by meter European style on a steep hillside. A true green apple fruit character describes our stainless steel fermented and aged Chardonnay — lean, with a noticeably clean finish. Though perfect with a simple ham and cheese sandwich, our Chardonnay entertains impeccably alongside hot crab dip, seafood and mild white cheeses.
Booger Swamp White Wine Yadkin Valley — $15 As seen on The Jay Leno Show last October, our signature white blend of Vidal Blanc and Chardonnay, with a touch of Niagara and Riesling, is named after a local rural legend. This refreshing “social sipper” with hints of green apples and honeydew is the perfect wine to pass with appetizers, particularly chevre cheese and buttery crackers, or oysters on the half shell. Red Wines Merlot 2005 Yadkin Valley — $17 Limited Release: 57 cases Who knew that Merlot means “black bird” in French? Our 2005 limited release is soft, fruity and drinkable — and sings beautiful backup to beef, pork, lamb chops, game fowl, and mild cheddar cheeses. Lower in tannins than its Cabernet Sauvignon cousin, it’s a team player wine, discretely complementing a carefully prepared meal. Some say our 2005 Merlot is as well-balanced as a Napa Valley Merlot, and we agree!
